One long side has a natural-edge.
The other long side has a straight edge, perfect to make a table to go up against a wall.
This also makes a nice coffee table size.
Litchi chinensis is an evergreen tree that is originally from China and has become a naturalized staple in many Hawaii yards and orchards for the delicious fruit it produces in summer months. It can reach upwards of 40 feet if left untrimmed. Bark can appear as white-grey to grey-black, the branches can appear brownish-red. The wood is incredibly dense and fine grained which allows it to take an incredible natural polish. Wood color develops from a bright pink to deep red toned hue. It's wood is also used for smoking or grilling because of the slow burning quality similar to mesquite woods. Lychee is often preferred for smoking when a less intense flavor is required. Lychee wood needs to be processed and dried carefully as it is prone to cupping, twisting and checking if dried too aggressively.
